Lucy and The Leading Man Young Adult Sweet Romance Love in Ocean Grove Book 2 eBook Anna Catherine Field Reviews

  • I love this series so so so so so sk so much, I can't wait for the next book!!!!!!
  • I love this book and its story of redemption. Lucy is introduced briefly in Finley's book as a side character who becomes friends with Finley. In that book, she mentions trying out for the show that is run by Chase's mom. This book is the story of what happens because of that experience on the show. I love how Lucy was willing to risk everything to follow her dreams, but when those dreams come crashing down, she falls with them. I love how hard she works to come back from that experience and the support that she has from Dean and from others to help push her to do that. This is truly a redemption story that follows her through all of her ups and downs to regain what she has lost and to push for a better future. Anna Catherine Field has done an amazing job with this book and I cannot wait to see where the next takes us.
  • Another great read by Anna Catherine Field. I loved her first one and the second one didn't disappoint.
I was excited to read about Lucy and hear her story. Lucy was also a foster child but ended up in a good home in Ocean Grove. That changed though when she decided to try out for The Next Big Model. The show didn't end the way Lucy had hoped it would and things changed. She ends up working at the pizza place in Ocean Grove called Pie Whole. She has a new appearance and not as much confidence as she used to. Then she mets Dean and her life changes even more, but for the better this time. I really liked the chemistry before Dean and Lucy. The attitude, the conversations, the playfulness, and helping each other out. I thought it was great that they ended up helping each other out and both of them getting somewhere/something out of the deal. I was glad that Lucy finally started getting her confidence back and Dean was able to get more out of his acting and that everyone was really supportive. I was a little surprised at how supportive his parents were and didn't really mind that he dropped out of school for acting and got his diploma online. I also thought it was great that Lucy ended up talking to her foster family again and went back on The Next Big Model Redemption show. One thing that was a little odd was the jealousy issue that I noticed another reviewer brought up. Dean ends up kissing a co-actor on set and then eventually they are supposed to date on the show. Lucy never mentions it or brings it up but I know the tabloids and social media mentioned that something may be going on with Dean and Reese. Lucy seemed upset about it after Dean ended up leaving earlier than planned but then nothing else was said about it. I also thought the ending was a little interesting when it came to the ending of the show. I was not expecting The Next Big Model to end like that and it was a different twist to the show. I am glad everything worked out though and that everyone ends up being friends and things seem to be going well. I'm curious as to who is the main character of the next story because I felt this story didn't leave any cliffhangers; which was nice. I definitely recommend this story/series though! I love that I was able to get an early copy of this for my honest review.
  • >Book Review – Lucy and the Leading Man
    >I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 2nd in the Love in Ocean Grove series and ends in an HEA. Lucy was introduced in book 1. She was a foster child, along with Finley. Unlike Finley, Lucy had a life-long goal of becoming a model and lived her life using her love of fashion and confidence. Lucy’s confidence tanks when she is on a modeling tv reality show. As a result, Lucy’s self-esteem is low, she dropped out of school and lost her foster family. Dean is a high school senior and super confident actor. He sees Lucy and is intrigued. Dean and Lucy find out they can help each other. Dean needs help rebranding himself, which is Lucy’s forte. Lucy needs to regain her confidence, which is Dean’s forte.
    >As Lucy and Dean fall for each other, there is the issue of how the physicality of acting might cause jealousy between a couple. Dean kissing his co-star is never really addressed. Dean is hired as a love interest, but no jealousy issues are ever dealt with regarding Lucy. I love the interactions between Dean and Lucy as they move from friends to dating.
    >This book is appropriate for a young adult (16+) audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. I wish the jealousy issue was addressed.
  • I love this series and can’t wait for the next one! I have to admit that I preferred the first one because it was so different and the premise of a YA story about group homes and foster care really drew me in, for personal reasons, but this one was very good too. Clean romance with no sex and no swearing, no innuendo. Highly recommended.
  • I enjoyed this book.
    I love this series.
This is the second book and was so wonderful.
I like this author as she knows how to capture her readers and keep them interested.
  • This is book number two in this wonderful series I fell in love with. I highly recommend this story to all.
  • A very sweet story. Likable characters, good chemistry. I liked this book.
